The short version
Rundown collects the little it needs to make you a briefing and remember where
you were in it. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and nothing
is sold or shared for marketing. The app contains no third-party SDKs at all.
What is collected
- Your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple or Google.
If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address.
- An account identifier issued by Apple or Google.
- What you ask for — the text of a custom briefing request, whether
you typed it or dictated it.
- Your briefings and how far through each one you listened.
- Your settings — language, country, chosen topics, preferred length.
- Purchase records — the transaction identifiers Apple returns.
Apple handles the payment; we never see a card.
What is not collected
- No advertising identifier, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No location.
- No contacts, photos, or files.
- No recording of your voice. Dictation is transcribed by iOS and only the
resulting text reaches us.
Who else sees it
Making a briefing means sending the subject to services that write and voice it.
These are processors acting on our instructions, not independent recipients:
- Anthropic — writes the script from your subject.
- Tavily — searches news for the subject.
- ElevenLabs — turns the script into speech.
- DICTA — an Israeli academic service that adds Hebrew vowel
points, so Hebrew scripts are read correctly. Hebrew text only.
- Cloudflare R2 — stores the audio.
- Railway — runs the service and its database.
- Apple and Google — sign-in; Apple also handles
every purchase.
Nobody else. We do not sell personal information and we run no advertising.
How long it is kept
Your account and briefings stay until you delete them. Audio for daily briefings
is shared between listeners and expires on its own.
Deleting everything
Open Profile → Delete account in the app. It removes your account,
your briefings, your place in them and your settings. It cannot be undone, and a
subscription is cancelled separately in the App Store.
Children
Rundown is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect
information from them.
